<p>The selection of this national target aims to strengthen climate resilience and carbon sequestration through ecosystem restoration. Ecosystem restoration is an effective measure that can be taken to reverse habitat loss, fragmentation and degradation, and improve climate resilience. Challenges for improving resilience require availability of adequate finance, founding of nationally determined commitments, taking measurable actions and mapping of carbon stocks and areas for the prevention of climate-related drought, flood, wild fire outbreaks and species adaptation to climate.</p>
