Aichi Target 12:By 2020 the extinction of known threatened species has been prevented and their conservation status, particularly of those most in decline, has been improved and sustained
The selection of this national target is due to its focus on preventing the extinction of vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered/threatened species. Preventing the extinct of those species in Sudan requires coordination across boundaries with other regions inside the country and across countries. The target will support identification of species at risk of extinction, assess their status and distribution, levels of protection for prioritized species, taking actions that develop species recovery plans, to overcome the challenges of habitat loss, poaching and climate change that accelerates species extinction rate
