•    The selection of the Aichi Target 7 as a national target focuses on sustainable resource management of agriculture, aquaculture and forestry and hence is expected to assist in reducing the continuing pressures on the ecosystems and biodiversity in Sudan. •    The existing levels and systems of production and consumption of food, fibre and biomass energy are unsustainable with consequential related biodiversity losses. •    The target opts for geospatial assessments of existing and trending situation of sustainably managed agriculture, aquaculture and forestry operations, prioritizing areas based on their impacts on biodiversity and ecosystems services and identifying policies for promoting sustainable management and removal of subsidies urging unsustainable practices
