In line with the state’s policies to pay attention to pastoral resources and to develop plans and programs that enable the settlement of grazing in Sudan in accordance with an environmental strategy that ensures the preservation of environmental balance and the achievement of balanced and sustainable development.
Emphasizing the importance of establishing a legal and institutional framework and in an effort to advance this public facility of natural resources and to address threats that negatively affect its production in quantity and quality, such as wrong practices within pastures such as setting fires, removing vegetation cover, overgrazing and expanding agriculture outside planning, as well as the lack of adequate coordination between agencies Interested in natural resources and the absence of an integrated plan to exploit the land in order to avoid the devastating environmental effects that resulted from soil erosion and desert encroachment on pasture areas and agricultural lands, and the accompanying social shocks such as the mass exodus to major cities or gathering around water resources with large numbers of livestock that exceed the pasture load, which exacerbates the The erosion crisis and the expansion of desertification.
